Christmas TV Programs From ‘50s to Be Shown

The UCLA Film and Television Archive will present two classic television Christmas programs from the 1950s Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy Plaza Theater, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, 5230 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood.

“Our Miss Brooks--The Magic Christmas Tree” was written and directed by Al Lewis and originally aired on CBS on Dec. 25, 1953. “Shower of Stars--A Christmas Carol” stars Fredric March and Basil Rathbone, features an original musical score by Bernard Herrman and was produced and directed by Ralph Levy. It originally aired on CBS on Dec. 13, 1956.
