AST Founder Wong Joins Printrak International Board

* Albert Wong has joined the board of directors of Printrak International Inc., an Anaheim supplier of automated fingerprint identification systems. Wong co-founded AST Research Inc. in Irvine in 1980. He directed worldwide engineering and manufacturing operations until leaving the company in late 1988. In 1989, Wong founded AMKLY Systems, a provider of personal computer and networking products. He currently serves as a director of NetSoft in Irvine.

* Russell E. Frain has been appointed vice president of Coors Brewing Co.’s Southwest field business area in Irvine. He succeeds Michael A. Jackson, who will relocate to Golden, Colo., as vice president, market development. Frain had been retail account director since 1994. Succeeding him in that position is Todd Klug, who had been retail account executive. In addition, Joe Wagner was named field marketing director. He was formerly brand manager for Original Coors.

* Earle Zucht has been named senior vice president of strategic sales for Wyle Electronics in Irvine. He was formerly vice president of corporate sales. Kim Hibler has been appointed vice president, Southwest region. She was previously Southwest regional director.

* Kathy Tovatt has joined Anderson & Anderson, an Irvine commercial insurance brokerage firm, as vice president. She was previously consultant and partner for RJL Insurance Services for six years. Tovatt was also vice president of marketing for Gow & Hanna West.

* Dawn Wallock has been appointed vice president of marketing for Del Taco Inc. in Laguna Hills. Lou Franson, former head of marketing, has left to pursue other interests. Wallock, who has been with the company since 1995, had been director of sales and brand marketing. Before joining Del Taco, Wallock was retail brand manager for 76 Products Co. and was a marketing director for Olive Garden restaurants and Winchell’s.

* David Muir has been named executive vice president of all North American operations for Crown Pacific in Huntington Beach, a moving company. Muir has 17 years’ experience in the moving and storage industry, mostly in Europe.

* Tom Ring has joined RiechesBaird Advertising in Huntington Beach as traffic manager. Before joining the agency, he was a traffic coordinator for Western International Media Corp.

* Phil Salvati, Harvey Hoffenberg and Peter Stranger have been named managing partners for the Costa Mesa office of Bozell Worldwide, and will share overall responsibility for the Southern California operation. In addition, the name of the office, formerly Bozell/Salvati Montgomery Sakoda will become Bozell. The new management structure reflects consolidation of the Costa Mesa staff of 225. For the past two years, the group working on the Taco Bell account worked independently.
