India Train Blast Kills 12; Dozens Hurt
A bomb exploded among passengers sleeping on a train this morning, killing at least 12 people and destroying two rail cars.
More than three dozen people were injured, railway officials said.
There was no claim of responsibility, but the train was bound for the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir, where Kashmiri separatists have tried to blow up trains in the past.
The explosion occurred as the train was pulling out of Ambala station, 125 miles north of New Delhi and about halfway to Jammu and Kashmir, the officials said.
