Amgen Accepting Teacher Nominations
Amgen announced Wednesday that the company is accepting nominations for its sixth annual Award for Teacher Excellence in Ventura County, and for the first time will take nominations electronically on its new Web site.
The award, sponsored by the Amgen Foundation, recognizes extraordinary contributions and performance by public or private educators of grades K-12 in Ventura County and surrounding areas. Nominations are being accepted until Feb. 21.
Five winners each will receive a $10,000 cash award at a private dinner during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
Anyone can nominate a teacher by sending a letter with the teacher’s name, grade level, school and an explanation of why he or she deserves the award. Previous award recipients are not eligible.
Online nominations can be made by filling an electronic form at https://www.Amgen.com/TeacherAward.
Winners will be announced in May.
Nominations by mail should be sent to Amgen Award for Excellence, Amgen Foundation, Amgen Center, Mailstop 10-2-H, Thousand Oaks, 91320-1789.
