Missing Funds Add to O’Hair Mystery
A new, dark twist has emerged in the year-old mystery surrounding the disappearance of Madalyn Murray O’Hair, the world’s most famous atheist. More than $625,000 also vanished from two atheist groups controlled by O’Hair at about the same time that the 78-year-old leader, her son and her adopted daughter were reported missing, according to a story in a San Antonio newspaper. The leader of O’Hair’s American Atheists Inc. denounced suggestions in the San Antonio Express-News that the threesome may have settled comfortably in New Zealand, where they have had past interests.
