Where to find big-band music and dancing in Orange County:
* Birraporetti’s, South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa. (714) 850-9090. Monday nights at Birraporetti’s offer the best ‘40s flashback in Orange County. The Don Miller Orchestra attracts a standing-room-only crowd of top-notch East Coast swingers and Lindy hoppers who dress the part so well you’d swear you were on a period-movie set. The 13-piece big band, a Birraporetti’s mainstay for eight years, plays 8-11:30 p.m. every Monday. Free.
* Rhino Room, 7979 Center Drive, Huntington Beach, (714) 892-3316. The 16-piece Eddy Reed Big Band plays Wednesdays, 9:15 p.m.-2 a.m. Dance lessons at 8 p.m. $10 cover.
* Twin Palms, 630 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach, (714) 721-8288. The 16-piece Balboa Beach Big Band plays Wednesdays, 8-11 p.m. Also various live bands, 6-8:30 p.m. No cover.

* Steamers Cafe, 138 W. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton, (714) 871-8800. The 17-piece Big Band Staff plays Mondays, 8-10:30 p.m. No cover.
