Pop music star Gloria Estefan, actor Edward James Olmos and the TV dramas “NYPD Blue” and “New York Undercover” were the top winners at the National Council of La Raza’s 1996 Bravo Awards, held Saturday at the Wiltern Theater.

Estefan received three awards. Her HBO special, “Gloria Estefan: The Evolution Tour-Live in Miami,” won for best music special and best performance by a female in a variety or music series or special, and A&E;’s “Intimate Portrait: Gloria Estefan” was named outstanding made-for-TV documentary.

Olmos was the only other individual double winner. He was named best actor in a feature film for “Caught” and outstanding performer (male or female) in a made-for-TV movie or miniseries for ABC’s “Larry McMurtry’s Streets of Laredo.”
