As a follow-up to Stephen F. Cohen’s commentary, “A Transition Leading to Tragedy” (Dec. 13), on post-Soviet developments, allow me to ask:

Q: What is the one thing capitalism has been able to achieve in five years that communism was not able to achieve in 70?

A: Make communism look good!
