Stock Offering Planned

Data Processing Resources Corp. said Wednesday it is planning an offering of 2.2 million shares of common stock to generate funds for future acquisitions, opening new offices and other general purposes.

Data Processing, which provides technology staffing services, also said it has agreed to acquire Dallas-based Leardata InfoServices Inc., another provider of technology staffing, for $19.8 million in cash and stock.

Data Processing said Leardata had revenue of about $16 million for the 12 months ended Oct. 31. For the year ended July 31, Data Processing reported $58.1 million in revenue.

The transaction is expected to close in early January.
