Clipper update--They’ve lost two in a row, including a 16-point loss at Seattle on Friday night. Guard Brent Barry sat out the SuperSonic game because of a sore back and forward Rodney Rogers, bothered by a sore shoulder, missed six of seven shots in 24 minutes. Guard Pooh Richardson has sat out the last five games because of a sprained right ankle. The Clippers opened the season with a 97-85 victory at Golden State on Nov. 1.

Warrior update--After suffering their worst loss of the season in Seattle last Tuesday, losing to the SuperSonics by 40 points, Joe Smith had 30 points as the Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves by 27 points on Wednesday. Guard Latrell Sprewell is averaging a team-high 24.5 points and 5.7 assists and Smith is averaging 17.8 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds.
