Repair Shop Owner Robbed, Badly Beaten
The owner of a Ventura automobile repair shop remained in critical condition Sunday at Ventura County Medical Center after being badly bludgeoned during a robbery.
Customers found 60-year-old Robert Schockow, owner of Bob’s Garage on East Thompson Boulevard, lying wounded on the floor of the shop’s business office about 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Schockow had been beaten on the head with a blunt object in the parking lot behind the office. His wallet and a large amount of money were stolen during the attack.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ventura Police Sgt. Gary McCaskill at 339-4482.
