Flight Delayed by Bomb Threat
A Mexicana Airlines passenger plane was evacuated Wednesday at San Jose International Airport after the airline received a bomb threat, but the scare turned out to be a hoax, airport officials said.
“Mexicana directly received a bomb threat and immediately isolated the aircraft and the passengers,” an airport spokeswoman said.
Mexicana Flight 953, with 163 passengers and six crew members, was bound for Guadalajara, and was then scheduled to fly to Mexico City.
Authorities said the bomb threat was made about 9:30 a.m.
Investigators cleared the flight for departure about 2 p.m.
