Story’s Image of Woodland Hills

Share

* Thank you once again for demonstrating that some traditions never change--rain or shine, festive holiday season or sizzling summer, we loyal Valley readers can count on those clever Los Angeles Times writers to find the perfect angle to trash our communities. In the “Fir Traders’ Homecoming” (Dec. 15), we get to hear how the Price family makes the arduous journey from their bucolic Oregon home to Woodland Hills, “a traffic-clogged smog-laden city often rated the nation’s worst for polluted atmosphere.” If inaccurate reporting were a crime, staff writer John Glionna would be up on felony charges! Not only is Woodland Hills a beautiful and safe community, the skies are generally clear and traffic moves, even a little fast judging by the traffic cops patrolling Winnetka Avenue during the morning commute.

As 1996 comes to a close, maybe one of The Times’ New Year’s resolutions should be to give us balanced and accurate reporting. I for one am not holding my breath.
