Irvine Sensors Corp.: The Costa Mesa manufacturer of specialized microcircuitry and high-density electronics reported a net loss of $11.5 million, or 68 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Sept. 29. That compares with a net loss of $3 million, or 20 cents a share, for the preceding year. Revenue rose 50% to $12 million from $8 million. The fourth-quarter loss totaled $5.3 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $962,100, or 6 cents a share, for the comparable quarter of fiscal 1995. Revenue more than doubled to $5.5 million from $2.3 million. The company attributed the revenue growth to increased shipments from its Computer Products Operation in Vermont and its Novalog subsidiary. At the same time, the company said its increased loss came from slashed profit margins in the Computer Products Operation unit, caused by the worldwide collapse last year in prices of certain types of computer memory chips.
