Former campaign spokeswoman Ann Lewis, one of President Clinton’s more liberal advisors, will be named deputy White House communications director, administration officials said Thursday.

Aides also say Craig Smith, an Arkansas native and one of Clinton’s most loyal aides, is expected to be named political director. He currently is co-executive director of the presidential inaugural committee. Clinton has not made a final decision on Smith, they said.
