House Intelligence Chief Set

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Monday appointed Rep. Porter J. Goss (R-Fla.), a former CIA agent, to be chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Goss, 58, was a CIA operative from 1962 to 1972. He then went into city and county politics in Florida and has been in Congress since 1988.
