Looking Ahead and Looking Good

Creating a $500,000-a-year fund for neighborhood improvements, finish downtown redevelopment and move forward with $4 billion in public and private improvements in the resort area are among City Council priorities this year.
At a recent workshop, council members Lou Lopez and Shirley McCracken said that the city needs to spruce up neighborhoods, repair sidewalks, resurface streets and trim trees.
City Manager James D. Ruth said he will seek federal grants to augment the fund.
