Divided Views of Cox Article
Certainly others must be heartened by Rep. Christopher Cox’s Jan. 19 Orange County Voices article, “When It Comes to Key Issues, Ours Is Not a Nation Divided.”
So much of the “worst of times” screams across the headlines of the news media. And, true, very much needs to be done in this country, starting with individual responsibility, community cooperation and greater national conscience.
But also, we need to express gratitude for the many things that are right and to encourage those in authority who seriously work toward improving conditions and strive continually to bring about positive progress for our country and its citizens. To them from us, a little pat on the back is surely appropriate.

* America’s teachers will make Cox a deal we hope he won’t refuse. We will take “tougher competency tests” if congressional representatives and political leaders of both parties will take competency tests, too. Let’s start with a section on ethics, shall we?
