Stolen Tow Truck Used in Theft of ATM, Police Say

PORTLAND, Tenn. — Police said Friday they arrested a man for allegedly using a stolen tow truck to rip an automatic bank teller machine from its concrete foundation and pry $14,000 in cash out of the machine.
Eric Hatton, 26, of Bethpage, Tenn., was held in lieu of $100,000 bond, charged with stealing the cash and the bank machine, which police valued at more than $46,000.
