Calnetics Corp. has named Trygve M. Thoresen...

Calnetics Corp. has named Trygve M. Thoresen to its newly created post of vice president for finance and general counsel.

Previously, Thoresen was an attorney with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles, and before that served as a senior accountant with KPMG Peak Marwick.

Calnetics, based in Chatsworth, is a maker of various components and fittings used in the building, plastics and agricultural industries.

* James H. Frey was named corporate vice president of strategic business development of Litton Industries Inc., a Woodland Hills defense contractor.

Previously, Frey was president of Litton Itek Optical Systems.

* William A. Sutman was named vice president and controller of Universal Studios in Universal City.

Previously, Sutman was vice president of audits at Joseph E. Seagram & Sons Inc., Universal’s parent.

* Boskovich Farms has named Donna Garren to the newly created position of director of research and development / product safety. Her responsibilities for the Oxnard-based produce company include research, new product development, product safety, quality assurance and implementation of sanitation programs.

Garren has a doctorate in food science and technology from the University of Georgia.
