National Education Posts $21.4-Million Profit

National Education Corp. recorded a profit for 1996 on a 12% gain in revenue.

The company, which provides multimedia products and services for education and training, said it earned $21.4 million, or 58 cents a share, last year, compared to a net loss of $87.2 million, or $2.73 a share, for 1995. Revenue rose to $288.8 million from $258.6 million. Net income for the fourth quarter was $9.2 million, or 25 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $2.9 million, or 8 cents a share, for the 1995 fourth quarter. Revenue grew 18%, to $80.6 million from $68.3 million.
