Finance Conference to Help Journalists
Government officials, academics and journalists will huddle for a three-day conference beginning today in Oxnard that will focus on the reporting of new government budget policies.
The conference--”Redefining Government: Reporting the Coming Crisis in State and Local Finance”--is designed to help journalists better understand changes being brought about by new economic policies, organizers said. It is sponsored by the Foundation for American Communications, Scripps Howard Newspapers, California Society of Newspaper Editors and The Society of Professional Journalists.Featured speakers include Ventura County Supervisor John Flynn and former Congressman Robert Lagomarsino.
