Coming Attractions

Here’s a look at key games this week for UC Irvine:

* Men’s basketball at Cal State Fullerton, 7 p.m. Thursday, and at Utah State, 6:30 p.m. (PST) Saturday. The Anteaters begin a five-game trip and their chances of qualifying for the Big West Conference tournament are dwindling.

* Women’s basketball hosts Long Beach State, 7 p.m. Friday, and Pacific, 2 p.m. Sunday. The Anteaters (11-10, 6-4) are in second place the conference’s Western Division, one-half game in front of Pacific.

* Men’s tennis at USC, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, and at Pepperdine, 1:30 p.m. Friday.

* Men’s volleyball at Loyola Marymount, 7 p.m. Thursday. The Anteaters split last week, defeating San Diego State, 3-1, and losing to Pepperdine, 3-1.

* Men’s and women’s track and field open their seasons at the Jack Rose Relays Saturday at Long Beach State. Running events begin at 9:30 a.m. and field events begin at 10 a.m.
