From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A Florida man who is dying of AIDS and wants the right to commit suicide with his doctor’s help must wait at least several more months now that the state Supreme Court reinstated a stay. Charles Hall, 35, is the lone survivor in a lawsuit seeking the right to have a doctor prescribe a lethal dose of drugs without state interference. Hall won a ruling Jan. 31 that said he had the right to doctor-assisted suicide. The state’s appeal triggered a stay, which another judge lifted last week. In an unsigned order, the state Supreme Court reinstated the stay and said it would hear arguments May 9.
