Entries Solicited for O.C. Fair Contests

From prize-worthy livestock to the top iguanas, the Orange County Fair is seeking entries for its summertime competitions.

More than $200,000 in prizes are offered for baked goods, livestock, landscaping and other categories during the July 11-27 fair. Hundreds of ribbons are also available in fine arts, photography, wine- and beer-making and other categories.

There are several new contests this year and changes in the guidelines, so competitors are encouraged to pick up handbooks early. Among additions are glass blowing, china painting and various gardening categories.

The entry deadline is 4 p.m. May 28. Fees vary by contest.
