Photographer Accuses Simpson of Assault

A freelance cameraman who claims that O.J. Simpson attacked him on a public golf course in Encino saw a doctor Thursday for injuries allegedly suffered in the attack and plans to file a police report, his lawyer said.

Attorney James E. Blancarte said his client, whom he identified as Dan Hardy, was on assignment Wednesday for the tabloid news magazine “Inside Edition” when Simpson allegedly shoved him, kicked him, swung at him and wrestled him for his camera.

According to King World, the show’s owner, Simpson spotted the cameraman and started shouting, “You’re illegal here . . . you’re illegal, man.”

Simpson allegedly grabbed the camera, then shoved Hardy in the upper body, and then picked up two golf clubs and held them with both hands like a baseball bat, threatening to strike the cameraman, according to Hardy.

An attorney for Simpson declined comment on the incident, saying he had not discussed it with Simpson.

Simpson friend Leo Terrell said there was no physical confrontation, and that Simpson told the photographer to leave but never touched him, according to a television report.
