Times Taps New Assistant Managing Editors

Leo Wolinsky, Metro editor of The Times, and John Lindsay, executive editor of the Calendar section, have been named assistant managing editors, Times Editor Shelby Coffey III and Managing Editor Michael Parks announced. Senior Editor Carol Stogsdill will take on paper-wide responsibilities for a variety of cross-jurisdictional topics, with welfare reform and education being initial ventures. In addition, she will oversee the paper’s Washington edition and several other departments of the paper, including art, photography and Travel. Associate Editor Narda Zacchino will oversee the Orange County, Valley and Ventura editions of The Times as well as several feature sections. Deputy Managing Editor Terry Schwadron will become the editor of the paper’s Life & Style section, taking the place of Alice Short, who becomes the editor of the Los Angeles Times Magazine.
