Story of ‘Schindler’s List’

Share

Leopold Page survived the Holocaust, but only because his name was included on a list drawn up by Oskar Schindler. Page never forgot his benefactor, and took on the mission of bringing Schindler and his now-famous list to the attention of the world.

As part of Page’s commitment to spread the story of Schindler’s compassion and heroism, he contacted author Thomas Keneally. That relationship resulted in the best-selling Keneally book that eventually motivated director Steven Spielberg to transform the story into an Academy Award-winning film.

Page will speak tonight at Hamilton High School about his experiences during the Holocaust and his friendship with Schindler.
