Laker update--The Lakers have dropped out of first place in the Western Conference for the first time since Feb. 1, but there is reason to celebrate anyway: The Cavaliers are gone. Cleveland controlled the tempo down the stretch Wednesday by making 11 of 19 shots in the fourth quarter, and the Lakers managed only 58 shots total, the fewest in team history. The roster remains at 11 after Thursday’s George McCloud-Joe Kleine deal. The Lakers would like to fill the vacancy with a rebounder.
Grizzly update--At least Anthony Peeler and George Lynch had their Forum homecomings in January. This time, Lynch is on the injured list because of an abdominal strain and Peeler is hurting.
