Mother Returns to an Empty Nest

Antoinette Broomfield returned to her Birmingham home to find everything she owned gone--furniture, electronics, even her curtains. It wasn’t a housebreak. Police say a friend of her daughter, Tieesha, sold it all for the take-it-away price of $300, and her daughter did nothing as movers carted everything out the door. Police were looking for Amy Chere Watts, 23.
