Conxus’ Name Too Close for ConectUS’ Comfort

ConectUS Wireless Communications in Thousand Oaks has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against South Carolina-based Conxus.

Conxus and its related companies changed their name from PCSD in October.

“Their new name is confusingly similar to ours,” said ConectUS President Dennis Scully. “We have been using the name ConectUS since 1989 and do not intend to allow a company in the same industry with a similar product to operate with a name that will confuse our customers. We have already had several cases where people have called us thinking they would reach Conxus.”

ConectUS announced its 2Way Nationwide Text pager in December. Equipment is being shipped to ConectUS resellers throughout the country this month, and units should reach consumers by April.
