Duck update--They’ll take another crack at improving their 8-18-4 road record. The short trip concludes at Detroit on Sunday. Teemu Selanne’s nine-game point streak was ended in Wednesday’s 3-3 tie against Edmonton; he has 14 points in the last 10 games.

Capital update--Hit by injuries, they have fallen out of playoff position in the Eastern Conference and are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league, averaging 2.6 goals. They ended a three-game losing streak this week, tying Boston on Monday and beating Toronto on Wednesday. Peter Bondra leads the team with 36 goals, but they miss injured Joe Juneau and Andrei Nikolishin.
