Repairs to Close Part of La Tuna Canyon Road
A three-mile stretch of La Tuna Canyon Road will be closed from Monday until June 13, according to officials in the city’s Bureau of Engineering.
The street will be closed between Elben Avenue and the Foothill Freeway, said Tom Kilmer, a civil engineer at the bureau’s Van Nuys office.
The road will be closed to repair the street’s water-drainage system. The city’s Bureau of Street Maintenance will repave the road and the Department of Transportation will re-stripe it after the repairs are made, Kilmer said.
Local residents, who were informed last week of the closure, will be allowed access. All other traffic will be directed to alternate routes along Sunland Boulevard, the Foothill Freeway and the Golden State Freeway, Kilmer said.
