Company Agrees to Remove 26 Billboards
A major billboard company agreed to remove 26 billboards in Culver City in exchange for the right to put up two new ones along the San Diego Freeway, city officials have announced.
Eller Media struck the deal with the city last week after almost a year of negotiations and efforts by the City Council to minimize the number of new billboards on the area’s skyline.
Two billboards on National Boulevard, 14 along Washington Boulevard and 10 on Centinela Avenue will come down in the next few months. Eller Media, which operates 37 billboards in Culver City, also agreed to provide two free months of advertising space a year to the city for public service announcements.
