Share

If, as you report (Feb. 21), Washington’s anti-drug establishment shared sensitive details of U.S. drug interdiction strategy with Mexican Drug Czar Jose de Jesus Gutierrez Rebollo, the implications of his recent arrest are clear: Personalities and best intentions aside, the U.S. government was, in effect, pooling information and working hand in hand with foreign drug cartels.

That the drug war has deeply corrupted Latin American governments is beyond question. But what’s in store for us? How long will the drug war rage on before the corruption spreads north?
