Highs in the 80s, Cool Nights Are Forecast

Temperatures in the Valley will continue to warm up this week, and no rain is in the forecast.

“Unless you’re a gardener, it’s pretty good news,” said Bruce Rockwell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

High temperatures will be in the 80s for most of this week, warmer than normal for this time of year. But overnight lows will be a little cooler than seasonal norms. “Because it’s going to be cool and clear, it’s going to be dropping into the 40s and 50s,” Rockwell said.

The pleasant weather is caused by a high-pressure system west of San Francisco, blocking the low-pressure systems and storms that plagued California for most of the winter. That high-pressure system also brought light, 15- to 20-mph winds to the Los Angeles area. But those will end by Tuesday, Rockwell said.

High temperatures today are expected to be 87 in Burbank and 89 in Woodland Hills.
