4 Killed, 60 Hurt as 90 Vehicles Collide in Fog
From Times Wire Reports
About 90 cars and trucks slammed into each other in thick fog in two highway pileups that killed four people, injured 60 and set 15 vehicles ablaze. The crashes occurred within yards of each other on a major highway south of Birmingham, about 100 miles northwest of London--the first in the road’s southbound lanes and the second 20 minutes later in the northbound lanes. Seventy firefighters put out the fires. Police reported that most of those injured were not seriously hurt.
