30-Year Mortgage Rates Steady

Thirty-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 7.84% this week, the same as last week, according to Freddie Mac’s national weekly survey. On one-year, adjustable-rate mortgages, lenders were asking an average initial rate of 5.61%, up from 5.54% last week and the highest since mid-October. Fifteen-year mortgages averaged 7.34% this week, down from 7.35% a week earlier. The rates do not include fees known as points.
