Campaign Reform

Share

Let’s be realistic. Incumbent politicians aren’t going to do anything about reforming campaign financing; we’re going to have to do it ourselves.

It’ll be easy. In the next election, all we have to do is vote for the candidates who spend the least on their campaigns. Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Bull Moose--whatever. The one who spends the least gets elected.

In subsequent elections if the candidates finally recognize that they can get elected by spending nothing other than a filing fee and thus create a confusing logjam at the bottom, we may have to respond by resorting to some drastic measures to separate them--like maybe evaluating their qualifications and political beliefs.
