From Times Wire Reports

Tens of thousands of European trade unionists and politicians turned central Brussels into a sea of color and noise as they vented their anger at rising job losses, inhumane firms and uncaring governments. French auto maker Renault came in for particularly harsh treatment after the company’s decision two weeks ago to close its profitable plant near the capital with the loss of 3,100 jobs. “Renault is developing turbo-charged unemployment,” one banner read. Police said at least 50,000 people turned out for the rally, while organizers put the figure at 120,000.
