Governor Names Two to County Fair Board

Gov. Pete Wilson on Wednesday announced the appointment of two men to the Orange County Fair Board of Directors. They are:

* Arthur “A.G.” Kawamura, 40, of Huntington Beach, president of Western Marketing Co., a third-generation grower and agricultural shipper whose company markets produce across the United States and in Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim.

Kawamura, a Republican, is on the boards of the Western Growers Assn. and the California Celery Advisory Board. He was president of the Orange County Farm Bureau from 1994 to 1996.

* Donald J. Saltarelli, 55, of Orange, owner of Century 21 Saltarelli Realty in Tustin. He served on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from October 1995 to January of this year. A Republican, he was a Tustin City Council member from 1972 to 1987 and served four terms as mayor.

Saltarelli is also a member of the east Orange County, state and national associations of Realtors.

Wilson appoints nine members to the board of each county fair. The appointments do not require Senate confirmation, and the board members are not paid for their services.
