NeoTherapeutics Inc., which develops drugs to treat neurodegenerative diseases, reported a net loss of $1 million, or 31 cents a share, for 1996, compared with a net loss of $895,378, or 36 cents a share, for 1995. The company said the higher loss was principally due to increased expenditures for research and development made possible by new equity capital from the September 1996 public offering of common stock. No revenue was recorded for 1996, while $125,431 from grants was posted for 1995.
