Citizens Celebrate Downtown Revival

Share

About 100 Culver City business leaders, residents and community activists are meeting today to celebrate the progress of the city’s $11-million downtown revitalization.

The five-year rehabilitation has included the construction of a City Hall, the renovation of several landmark buildings, a street landscaping project and a public art program. Community members will spend the day touring the neighborhood and discussing future redevelopment aimed at creating a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented area.

One parcel of downtown left to be developed is a vacant lot at Culver and Ince boulevards now being used for parking and a weekly farmers market. The redevelopment agency is considering several proposals to transform the lot into an entertainment and retail complex.
