Police Interviews With Witnesses to Shakur Slaying Fail to Advance Probe

Share

Las Vegas investigators visited the Southland this week to interview two witnesses to rapper Tupac Shakur’s slaying, but neither man offered any information that could advance the case, officials said.

The two witnesses, a bodyguard and a rapper in Shakur’s entourage, told The Times last month that they saw the assailants who shot Shakur--which police said was inconsistent with taped statements they gave at the crime scene.

On Friday, Las Vegas Metro Police Sgt. Kevin Manning said the men did not ask to change their original statements during interviews this week. Bodyguard Frank Alexander viewed a mug folder of suspect photos at an Orange County restaurant, but could not identify the shooter. Rapper Malcolm Greenridge told police at the Compton police station that he never saw the shooter and did not wish to view the photos, Manning said.
