Photo Fails to Back Safe Cycling

Well, you did it again. I wrote to you last year protesting your publication of an inappropriate picture depicting unsafe bicycling, and now you’ve done it again, in spades!

In the March 12 edition on page B3, you show two young lads on a single bicycle, unsafe and illegal, without helmets, also unsafe and, if they’re 18 or under, also illegal.

How are we going to work the very difficult problem of promoting safe bicycling for children and adults if you continue to glamorize unsafe operation? The punishment for your photographer and editor should be to go to the emergency ward and see what happens when flesh and bone hit the asphalt.
