Police Chief
“A Latino, Yes, but Not From Inside LAPD” (Column Left, March 20) ironically brings out the problem in Los Angeles and more specifically surrounding the hiring of a high-profile official.
Why is it that the next police chief has to be Latino? Should we not be looking for the best candidate possible regardless of race? We need to look beyond color and choose based on character, experience and a solid plan for a safer Los Angeles.
