AT&T; said it signed an agreement with state-run Korea Telecom to offer the first high-speed private line linking the U.S. and South Korea. Terms weren’t disclosed. The service initially will be offered only to businesses in San Francisco and Seoul. The line will let firms in the two countries transmit large amounts of multimedia data, log onto the Internet more quickly and link company computer networks. U.S. phone companies have been pressing foreign nations to open their telecom markets.
