Grants Available to Assist the Needy
An organization sponsored by the U.S. Catholic Bishops is accepting grant requests from groups that promote self-reliant methods to help the poor.
The Campaign for Human Development, which receives money from yearly collections taken up in Catholic parishes, was founded in 1970 as part of the anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops.
The program’s goal is to help low-income people help themselves get out of poverty, said Jeff Bonino-Britsch, spokesman for the Campaign for Human Development.
The grant limit is $10,000 and applications are due May 1.
For more information, call Bonino-Britsch at (213) 637-7560.
