Low Clouds, Mist to Be the Calm Before Windstorm

A low marine layer that triggered light mist in some coastal areas Sunday will continue to hang over Orange County today, keeping temperatures in the 60s.

Meteorologists said the low marine layer might bring some more mist this morning before giving way to sunshine later in the afternoon.

Although some coastal areas experienced traces of light mist, it was not enough to be measured, said Curtis Brack, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

Brack said Orange County and other Southland areas will experience gusty winds up to 40 mph when a Pacific Northwest storm and a high pressure system from the Pacific Ocean converge in the region later in the day.
