A New York real estate investor has purchased an office building once occupied by Hughes Corp. for $10.2 million.

Amroc Investment Inc. purchased the 546,000-square-foot building at 4201 Bonita Place in Fullerton from Yasuda Bank and Trust Co. Ltd. It will convert the two-story office building to an industrial facility.

“In its present configuration as primarily back-office space, it is not attractive to the majority of prospective tenants,” said Rob Socci of the Anaheim office of Voit Commercial Brokerage, who is now marketing the property to several large users.

Hughes vacated the property about a year ago when it slashed its local defense operations. The Bonita building is not part of the 350-acre Hughes campus in Fullerton that the company owns and is trying to sell.
